We are experts at setting up the operating system for reliability (especially important on laptops) and can do this while leaving core system functions intact. So don't worry, you can still access the internet via wireless! Even just a few years ago that would have been a bad idea, on modern Vista systems, properly set up, theres no problem. You will need an internet connection from time to time to download free software updates in any case and there are plenty of legal sites to purchase audio and karaoke tracks from via download.
Of course if you use p2p software and download illegal content youre still at risk DON'T DO IT!
