The UHF band offers better interference protection than systems on the VHF band.

To keep the price down this twin set operates on fixed channels. More expensive units offer a choice of 16 channels but if you're only using one set of microphones and there aren't any other UHF mic users within range (about 100 feet) then these cheaper fixed channel units are fine.

Each channel has a volume control and indicators for audio and reception strength.

The receiver can free stand or rack mounted brackets are supplied.

Feed to your mixer is unbalanced 1/4" or balanced XLR.

Cons : Fixed channels no good if somebody else within range is on the same channel.

Perfect for karaoke at home if you've already got a laptop to run the software on.

The speakers are rated IP35 so you can run them outdoors if you want to annoy the neighbours! (Don't use the amp outdoors though.) Two 5m speaker leads are included in the kit - they don't use special plugs so you can easily add more cable later. Wall brackets are included in case you want to mount them.

The five pack of microphones include 3m leads for each microphone. You can plug two into the amplifier which includes a variable echo effect.

PCDJ Karaoki is our best selling professional karaoke software. It will play background music for you in between your karoke singing - automatically - and has a proper queue system so you know who's up next.

To make all this work you'll have to supply a suitable laptop and if you want to use full screen karaoke graphics a TV or computer monitor - but you've got those already haven't you? (We can supply them if you haven't - give us a call.)

You'll also need some karaoke tracks in digital form - we strongly suggest buying them from Slectatrack. Go to their site select your tracks pay and download them right onto your laptop. PCDJ Karaoki can play them fine.

Alternatively if you have CD+G karaoke discs it's very simple to convert them for the laptop our PCDJ Karaoki software includes a free utility to convert them. This only takes 5 minutes per disc.

Pros : If you've already got a laptop this kit gives you the other bits to do karaoke at home. The amp speakers and mics are good quality far better than the plastic tat offered in the high street. PCDJ Karaoki is very easy to use too.

Cons : The laptop and karaoke tracks aren't included. You'll have either purchase some karaoke tracks from Selectatrack or convert CD+G discs.
